Independent feeding advice
Nutrivice Consultancy is a consultancy company that provides independent feed advice to Dutch and Belgian dairy farmers, goat farmers and beef farmers with a team of 7 people.
Every 4 to 6 weeks we visit the customer to help feed the cows or goats. This means that we help design the ration and the feed advice that goes with it. We try to have cows and goats produce milk efficiently in a very healthy way, both efficiently in terms of raw materials and economically.
Transparent working is our top priority and we expect the same from our customers. By working together openly, we can achieve the best results for animal and farmer together with the farmer. The objectives of the farmer are the point on the horizon that we are going towards by composing the right ration.
During each visit, we discuss with the customer what is the most sensible thing to feed the cattle and how to manage the cattle:
- Purchase of raw materials
- Design of ration
- Design of the compound feed that is fed in the box
- Design of minerals
- Drawing up contracts
- Daily animal management
And all of this is focused on nutrition.
We link what happens in the barn to concrete advice that the customer can get started with.
The satisfaction of the dairy farmer is our top priority. For our customer, we are a sparring partner and part-time employee in the field of animal feed. We provide more nutritional expertise on the farm and in the barn.
We use our expertise to work with the customer to find (continuous) improvement.
What can you expect when a consultant visits?
A visit from a consultant always looks more or less the same.
We start with a tour of the barn.
- How are the dry cows doing?
- What do the pits look like?
- What do the dairy cows tell us in terms of cow signals?
Then we go inside and collect all the data. Calculate the feed efficiency, list all the prices, how much concentrate is used for 100 litres of milk, for example, calculate the feed balance and then we decide what we are going to do today? Are we very satisfied? Then fine, do nothing. Or are there points of attention? Then we will see how and what we are going to change.
